When it comes to gift baskets, most people likely think of lotions and bath bubbles or those sausage, crackers, and mustard baskets you see everywhere around the winter holiday season. BasketsAsGifts (BAGs) is NOT that. If you wanted a bath themed basket personalized for your special someone, Roslyn would happily build you a beautiful gift. What I mean is, she takes gift baskets to the next level.

It all began when it was Roslyn’s turn to bring gifts to the women’s church group meeting. It was Thanksgiving themed and she had the idea to create “Thankful Baskets”. The baskets were a huge success with the ladies! Roslyn began to receive basket requests for all kinds of things; birthdays, graduations, Valentine’s Day. Gifts are a passion of Roslyn’s and she was happy to help. As the demand for baskets grew, it became clear to Roslyn she had a new path in life. BAGs was born!
While still maintaining two other jobs, Roslyn began helping with more than just gifts. It first evolved into party decorations. Instead of a personalized gift, you can order a Party In A Box, with everything you need to host a birthday or graduation. From there, she was finding vendors for parties, such as caterers, DJs, and photo booths. It made sense to Roslyn, “A party is just a gift that keeps on giving.”
What started as a hobby in 2007 has grown into a party planning empire over the course of seventeen years. The Journey hasn’t always been easy for Roslyn. She survived a heart surgery when she was only eleven years old. This gave her a strong outlook on life, each day is a gift. Even then, in 2018, there was a time when Roslyn thought BAGs might not make it.
She was ready to throw in the towel. At a Superbowl party, a friend told her about their brother’s YouTube page. Curious, Roslyn watched one of his inspirational videos. “You got this,” he said and it was just the boost she needed. BAGs rebranded and with a new look (and outlook), it flourished. Now, BAGs is a “one stop shop” for all your party needs.
BAGs ships nationwide and is willing to travel out of state for any party planning needs. They also offer chocolates and have their own Tea Truck!

Advise for anyone else starting out? “Don’t give up. Don’t wait for your clients to come to you- go to them! Find them.” She also says be willing to adapt- During Covid, BAGs offered “covid baskets” with cleaning supplies and needs and contactless party box drop offs.
